September 10, 2009:  MEETING MINUTES OF SAN ANTONIO DEL MAR HOMEOWNERS COMMITTEE

Members Present: Al Rosen, Javier Gonzales, Craig Schaefer, Dora Alicia McIntosh, Herta Calvo, Dr. Martha Alvarez, Liz Walton & David Holt. 
 
Items Discussed:  
·      Craig read minutes from August 13, 2009. Amendments were made. Dora Alicia made a motion to accept amended minutes, Liz seconded. Vote unanimous 
·      Due to schedule conflicts the next committee meeting will be October 15, 2009. 
·      CESPT news: the dangerous structure at the South beach entrance is gone and the pump is working. We may plant flowers there. We must be cautious that whatever we add to the area does not cause liability for SADM. 
§      Bahia sewer appears to be dumping sewage at night. Dr. Alvarez will investigate. 
§      800 block pump is working fine and the treatment facility is working well. 
·      Abandoned cars have been ticketed and are scheduled to be removed from SADM. 
·      We currently have 301 paying members of the Homeowners Association.  
·      Dr. Alvarez reported that Alfonso Don Poncho is doing well. She keeps in contact with his family and we will hope to have work for him in the green areas when he is able. He will be invited to the Sept. 15th Fiesta. 
·      Our security team, Miguel, David, Ysidoro, Hector, Edgar and Elias are doing a good job. Vacations were due and the guards asked to forego time off. We had a few minor security issues last month. 
·      The September beach cleanup is Sept 19th. The local school children want to volunteer again.  Liz & Herta will coordinate. 7:30am signup, 10:30am weigh and tally. Report by Noon, then prizes & activities. 
·      The lost golden retriever named “Lucky” was returned to it’s owner. Reminder to neighbors: Those who keep their dogs on a leash as requested by the community don’t usually loose them. 
·      The street repairs from the extra money raised is almost completed. 
·      Dr. Alvarez will investigate what can be done to reduce the pigeon population. 
·      Al Rosen will create a sample nomination form for the January elections.  
·      Dr. Alvarez will check that run off areas are clear for the El Nino heavy rains that are predicted this winter.  
·      Herta made a motion regarding elections, Dora Alicia seconded, unanimous vote:  
1.      No proxy votes will be accepted 2. One ballot, one vote for each property owned. 3. Ballots will be sent to all paying members in good standing. 4. Homeowners eligible to vote in January must be paying members of the Homeowners Association. (Since we represent the paying members). 5. People nominated for the committee must be paying members. 
·      Toni Robinson and Mickey Baker will be asked to help with the 2010 election as they are independent entities.  
·      Herta suggested that the guards log the taxi drivers ID and which homes they are going to for added security. 
·      Dave commented that the pool water is looking good and Ricardo Pena is doing a good job with the pool. 
Actions: 
 
·      Dora Alicia and Craig handed out over 200 flyers last month at the South guard gate to homeowners and construction workers detailing guide lines for respect for our community.
