August 28, 2008: MEETING MINUTES OF SAN ANTONIO DEL MAR HOMEOWNERS COMMITTEE

Items Discussed:
· Margarita Diaz, coordinator-director for Proyecto Fronterizo, was present to explain the procedures for the area beach clean-up scheduled for September 20. The clean-up will extend from San Diego to Ensenada. Trash will be identified and counted as it is collected. This is part of research to determine the type of pollution afflicting the oceans of the world. Volunteers will register at the South Park at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Teams will be formed and sent to the three beaches fronting San Antonio. Margarita also informed the committee that the ocean water testing project has been funded and the project will begin soon.
Previous Items:
· Roaming dogs from 900 block of Cantil continue to be a problem. Complaints from neighbors.
· Trash from businesses at the south entrance continues to accumulate and create an ugly appearance. Martha stated that she would try to contact businesses again. Suggested that we remove the trash cans.
· Discussed plans for Mexican Independence Day Fiesta.
· Discussion of Security Program and relationship with Alta Seguridad Privada (Executive Session called and unanimously agreed to)
Actions:
· Minutes from July 14, 2008 meeting reviewed and approved. Liz moved and Herta seconded. Unanimous acceptance.
· Minutes from August 14, 2008 meeting reviewed and approved. Herta moved and Alex seconded. Unanimous acceptance.
