October 23, 2008:  MEETING MINUTES OF SAN ANTONIO DEL MAR HOMEOWNERS COMMITTEE

4:00pm

Members Present:   Dr. Martha Alvarez, Al Rosen, Javier Gonzales, Liz Walton, Herta Calvo, David Holt

Items Discussed:
·      Al mentioned that he will not available during the month of November. Consensus that normal meeting times continue.  Al will distribute email to committee members informing them of situation.
·      Martha reported on SADM financial status.  She estimates that the current account balance has enough money to take us through November.  She indicated that if residents who pay monthly and quarterly continue to pay, there should be sufficient funds through December.  Discussion of options if there are not sufficient funds to finish out the year.
·       Gates continue to break, requiring repairs.  If there are sufficient funds at the beginning of the year, consensus from group was that we need to change from steel to some other lighter material for gates.
·      Discussed the current rate of exchange between dollar and peso.  At present the peso has less value to the dollar.  Exchanging pesos to dollars will mean a loss of revenue.
There are about 3 residents who pay their dues in pesos (cash). Committee gave direction to Martha to not deposit cash peso payments into US account, rather use cash to make direct payments for services.

Previous Items:
·      Martha reported that there has been only one response to the letter sent to non-paying residents.
·       Martha reported that there have been no security incidents since the last meeting.  There was one incident involving a vagrant living in an abandoned house.  Police were called but ultimately no law violation was filed.  A new guard has been hired — Jose Luis Sanchez.  He is currently receiving training and is gradually being integrated into our security group.

End:   5:30 pm          Recorded by:    Al Rosen
