January, 8, 2009, 4:00pm: MEETING OF SAN ANTONIO DEL MAR HOMEOWNERS COMMITTEE MINUTES
4:00PM
Members Present: Al Rosen, Javier Gonzales, Craig Schaefer, Liz Walton, & Dr. Martha Alvarez.
Items Discussed:
· Minutes were read, amended. Liz made motion to approve, Javier seconded and approved unanimously.
· Al would like to create a budget for 2009 and hand it out at the February 14, 2009 Community Meeting.
· We will keep the active board at eight members and the Administrator. Five is a quorum.
· It has taken most of 2008 to resolve issues inherited by this current board.
· Our financial priorities are guards/security, clean parks & environment, a clean pool, and street lights. We need more financial support to work on the needed street repairs. Increased security and street maintenance are at the top of the list when we have more funds.
· Residents are always encouraged to donate for the repair of the street in front of their own property.
· Al wants a thank you note prepared to send to all residents who pay the $600, the full year dues, in advance. Their 2009 SADM stickers will be included with the note.
· We would like to create a community preparedness plan in case of natural disaster from earthquake, fire, flooding, etc. This will include water, medical, health, safety and contact information. At the next Community Meeting we will ask for a volunteer to spearhead this project.
· We would like to investigate a recycle program for the community.
· We will ask the community if there is interest in a community garden.
· At the General Meeting Al Rosen will go over the goals we set for 2008 and how we did.
· Dr. Alvarez will check on the fire hydrants in SADM and be sure they are in working order. We can identify their locations on our website for the community.
· We need a car for SADM for security and community business. A low mileage reliable vehicle for around $500.
· Craig will contact residents by telephone to request their email addresses. This will reduce communications costs and help us go green. Dr. Alvarez will supply the phone list.
· Owners should introduce renters to the guards and supply them with SADM standards info, website address, etc.
· We will have two beach clean up days in 2009. One in March and one in August. Exact date TDB.
· The guards would like a file box system created for visitors ID collection. Laminated # cards to be used.
· We will create 2009 ID badges for the guards with name, photo and year.
· Send thank you and receipt to Jeff Shannahan for $150 donation for Invoice Software that will enhance Quick Books.
Actions:
· Letters from residents Erb and Lower were read and action decided. They will receive a reply from Al.
· Dr. Alvarez will contact CESPT regarding increased sewage flow into the ocean. Maintenance is required.
