Our recent NEWSLETTER had this notice:
We have had several serious incidents involving dogs running free, resulting in serious injuries to residents and their pets. Walkers have been intimidated by roaming dogs. It is apparent that these dogs belong to residents/visitors. We ask all dog-owners to KEEP THEIR DOGS SECURED OR ON LEASH and carry plastic bags in order to clean up after their dogs. We also ask residents to appropriately remind offending residents or visitors of their responsibility in this matter. We must respect the safety of others, especially children, and the cleanliness of our community.
We are making signs that will be posted throughout the community reminding all who own dogs to KEEP DOGS ON LEASH and CLEAN UP AFTER THEM! We are also preparing a set of rules for all visitors to our community which will contain this directive and be given to them when they enter our community. Regardless of the size or temperament of dogs, they are animals. Owners cannot predict or guarantee how their dogs will act in all circumstances. We also want to give FAIR WARNING to all dog owners that we will insist that ANIMAL CONTROL come to our community and pick up all dogs who are roaming unsecured in our streets and common areas. If you are concerned about your pet’s safety and do not want to retrieve him from City Animal Control, please do your dog and your neighbors a favor: KEEP DOGS ON LEASH!
